Limited edition magazine to mark 30 years of Montane

Celebrating Montane’s milestone anniversary with a bespoke magazine packed with inspiring stories from their global team of adventurers.

The Client

Montane has been producing lightweight performance clothing and equipment for 30 years.

It started when co-founder Chris Ross and his friend Jake Doxat turned a hobby of making fleeces for beer money into an outdoor brand in 1993.

They’ve achieved a lot in a short space of time, gaining prominence in the UK and 30 other countries worldwide and helping millions of people to go further, faster outdoors.

The Brief

To mark their 30th anniversary, Montane came to us with a brief to create something special: a print publication that would reflect on their journey, commitment to innovation, endless pursuit of performance and explore how they are reducing their environmental impact.

Our Approach

We produced a limited edition print magazine and perfect-bound supplement packed with inspiring stories from their global team of adventurers, designers, and innovators  – written, curated, and edited by the Sidetracked team.

The magazine featured 10 full-length feature stories, eight Single Moment stories, and a brand story produced by the Sidetracked team in partnership with Montane. The design followed the Sidetracked magazine format, tailored to Montane’s guidelines. We also used our signature premium uncoated papers treated with a velvet laminate on the outer cover.

The Results

A truly bespoke magazine that celebrates the incredible expeditions and adventures Montane has supported over the years, with an in-depth look behind the scenes of the brand, its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and relentless pursuit of performance.

 We supplied print-ready files and managed the process through our usual printer, supplying boxed finished magazines directly to the client warehouse for distribution.
